Extract from Dieter Dorn's Book

Excerpt from the book by Dieter Dorn
(Founder of the eponymous Dorn Method):
"It's never too late for a healthy back -
the attitude of the school DORN METHOD ":
Every third person has back pain, often as a chronic ailment. But it need not be! The holistic method spikealso provides sustainable support for persistent problems. The Dorn method is as simple as it is ingenious: not the therapist, but the patient himself takes over the active part of the treatment. Only then can new, healthy posture and movement patterns are anchored. Man finds back to his inner self - literally. The old harmful patterns become a stored once and for all. This includes even the entire own attitude to life Wed Back problems can be solved from the bottom up!
Only in German speaking countries, many hundreds of doctors, naturopaths and physiotherapists their patients successfully launched comprehensive cure for spinal and joint problems. The Dorn method is now part of the abiding heritage physiotherapy treatment methods.
Highly effective, with no side effects and practiced worldwide - especially in chronic joint problems and back pain: the method spike is well recommended to get a rid once and for all from back pain and upright to go through life, in the truest sense of the word.

Helping to ease the stress

Helping to ease Stress
with a Dorn Method and Breuss
Massage combination treatment.

Modern life can be very demanding. For many people
today, the feeling of being 'stressed' has become 'normal'
and almost a way of life for them. But stress is not always
a bad thing; for instance stress in small doses can help
you perform better and motivate you to do your best
whether at work or play.

When you’re permanently caught up in these stressful situations and unable to take a break, you will eventually pay the price mentally or physically or even both.  By learning to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress earlier you will be able to help yourself from the 'burnout' that may occur. The actual feeling of being stressed is normal and in most cases it is fine in small amounts. What we are feeling is actually the body's natural response to us being placed in what we think of as uncomfortable situations.
For instance, you may have the feeling of being upset or you maybe under pressure at work due to a heavy workload or having certain deadlines to meet.                                                                                              It is then that your body’s natural defences will kick in.
This is what is known as the fight-or-flight situation.
When this happens our nervous system sends a high amount of stress hormones racing around our body; these stress hormones include adrenaline and cortisol, which place our body on high alert or in a state of emergency. When this happens, our hearts beat faster, our blood pressure rises, our breathing becomes a lot quicker and we tend to be more focussed than usual.
This is only good in the short term as it is our body's way of getting us out of trouble or in our modern society, it’s more about getting the job done faster and more efficiently. But if this state was to continue over a longer period of time without adequate breaks to allow your body to naturally wind down, you will be sure to hit the overload button and end up a mental or physical wreck in no time at all.
Being placed under a high amount of stress all the time can cause our bodies to start to shut down. It can cause us to have all sorts of health issues; feelings of lethargy, digestion problems or even ulcers can arise among other things. We become more prone to infectious diseases as all our body's defences are worn out. Our relationships with our family members can start to suffer; we may experience mood swings or anxiety and even depression. Our quality of life can deteriorate quite quickly.
Having a small amount of stress is quite normal in our everyday lives and without this we would be in a bit of a pickle, to be honest, as stress keeps us on our toes and makes us more alert, focussed and energetic and can even save our lives in an emergency situation. So not all types of stress are BAD!

What we have to do is notice the
signs and symptoms of stress and to
learn to control them before they
control us.

I have found that using The Dorn Method and Breuss Spinal Massage as a combination treatment is not only a good way to help with easing the build up of stress physically but mentally too. Most people who are stressed end up with their muscles so tight that to try to begin a treatment with the Dorn Method is difficult. This is where the two treatments come together as one. Beginning your treatment with a Breuss Massage will relax you, especially if you have never had a treatment before. I have found that even the most tense, stressed people will succumb to the gentle Breuss Massage; so much so that some of my clients have fallen asleep during this. When you are in this relaxed state of mind and body, your Dorn Practitioner can slowly
introduce the Dorn Method. The released tension and relaxed muscles enable your practitioner to
feel any misalignments of the spinal column and other joints, if there are any at all?  then gently coax them back into their natural position. By realigning these vertebrae or joints, your nervous system is able to perform the way it should and your body can start to heal itself naturally. I have found the combination of these two therapies to be very gentle in their practice on the physical side of things, but also have a very powerful effect on helping to relax the mind.
The only thing I can say is if you do suffer with stress; for instance if you are a high-flying business professional or a hard-working mum who finds juggling work and looking after the demands of children and family at home stressful
and feel in need of just some relaxation, then try
getting in touch with your nearest DMTA
registered Dorn Method Practitioner and see for yourself.
